KwaMashu School of Dance Theatre (KMSDT) is KwaZulu-Natal’s resident Contemporary Dance Project which is based in KwaMashu, Durban. The project was founded in 2004 to bring young people together to create fresh, innovative dance theatre and to educate art practitioners, communities, learners and general public about dance theatre. It also runs educational programmes for all interested to experience and develop skill in contemporary dance theatre, Indlamu Traditional Dance, Isipansula, Gumboots Dance and Stick/Rhythm Dance.
KwaMashu school of Dance Theatre Training and Job Creation Programme runs from
9am- 3pm every day from Monday to Friday at KwaStambu, No.5 sport field ground, Manzimtoti Road.
KwaMashu School of Dance Project operates from 4pm- 6pm Monday to Thursday, Phongolo Road, C Community Hall KwaMashu
and Dusi Saturday Dance Classes at The Playhouse Company, A1 Studio, Acutt Street Durban.10am- 12pm
